Prof. Mary Boatemaa Setrana, Director of the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Ghana and Professor of Migration and Social Change, has been featured in a Fellowship Spotlight interview published by Kujenga Amani, a platform of the Social Science Research Council.

The feature highlights Prof. Setrana’s academic journey, her contributions to migration governance, forced displacement, gender, labour migration, return migration and climate-related mobility. It also reflects on her commitment to mentorship, capacity building and the training of early-career researchers in migration studies.

In the interview, Prof. Setrana discusses the importance of bridging research, policy and practice, and emphasises the need to place migrants’ lived experiences at the centre of research and decision-making.

The Centre for Migration Studies celebrates this recognition, which reflects Prof. Setrana’s continued contribution to migration scholarship, policy engagement and the development of the next generation of African migration researchers.
